Festival of Lights - What do Hindus do on Deepavali?

Out of the blue, I bumped into the news regarding the Indian Holiday occurring at the moment around Hoan Kiem Lake Hanoi 🇻🇳. It suddenly brought all of my memories back about the 🇮🇳 Deepavali (Dewali) Festival in 2 continued years 2021 & 2022 while in 🇲🇾 & 🇸🇬.

Previously, I had no idea what the event was and why my Indian exes were all crazy about it 😬 However, in fact, during this period of time, we just stayed home, ordered the Indian traditional dishes and watched Bollywood sad movies that took lots of my tears away 😭

Just until 2022, before I went back to VN for good, I was lucky enough to have a chance to experience Diwali in a tourist port town for 3 days ⚓️🪝🚢 This once-in-a-lifetime milestone helped me realise how friendly and generous Indian people are, not to mention my respectful neighbours and caring and loving exes ☺️ And honestly, sometimes I regret I left them behind 🫣 Btw, Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights with its variations also celebrated in other Indian religions. It symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and wisdom over ignorance" If you already have known 😉

For the rest of my life, I will never ever forget the night we set off the fireworks freely to the sky and the day we queued for buffet and together had breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Many thanks and much appreciated for inviting me to your national event Sourav Debnath and Shilpi Debnath 🥰 I do really miss your girl Nyshu 🥹 Hope to see you guys soon in Hanoi next February 😍
