Things to do in Chinese New Year in the Sky at Resorts World Genting, Genting Highlands, Malaysia

Get ready to bask in festive grandeur as RWG’s iconic venues – Kimhua Atrium, Gohtong Jaya Baru, Skytropolis, Central Park and Madison Square are transformed into magnificent festive spaces and walkways bedecked with traditional red lanterns, fairy lights and a profusion of cherry blossom trees. Pose for pictures with Instagram-worthy art installations such as the adorable moon bunny characters in Kimhua Atrium and the towering 9-meter tall golden tree which takes centre-stage at Madison Square. Festive walkabout at RWG and a snowy new year Join the rabbit-themed procession at Gohtong Walk, a charming 1.28km festive route that will take you to eight iconic spots from SkyAvenue Gateway to SkySymphony, Gohtong Jaya Baru, Skytropolis, Kimhua Atrium, Arena of Stars, Madison Square and Central Park for a comprehensive tour of the main Chinese New Year attractions. For an experience similar to a snowy Lunar New Year in Beijing, stop over at Central Park to catch the snowflakes drifting lazily from above the rooftops, an experience that has to date enthralled over 300,000 visitors. Genting's sparkling SkyAvenue has gone all-out with its Chinese New Year decor this year. Stroll around the mall and take photos with roaring-red Chinese lanterns, pretty-in-pink cherry blossoms, as well as their majestic highlight - a Golden Tiger statue perched on an elevated spinning golden stage at the Kim Hua Atrium. Spreading across SkyAvenue mall's atrium are massive LED displays that offer cinematic visuals combined with specially-composed music every hour - watch as this theatre of lights and sound come together to tell a spectacular visual show that's free for all. This CNY (from 21 January - 15 February), marvel at a poetic and exhilarating festive SkySymphony performance featuring 12 zodiac animals as they spring to life and embark on a Great Zodiac Race through the cosmic kingdom! Fancy being one of the first people to explore this long-awaited wonderland? Even if you don't enter the theme park, you can head to the Central Park area of Genting Skyworlds to take some lovely photos in the cool breeze - our favourite setup here is definitely the breathtaking 7-metre-tall golden tree!
